IRU - Press release : Pre-Easter road chaos: Swiss Government ignores IRU warning   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Geneva – The International Road Transport Union (IRU) wrote to Swiss Transport Minister Moritz Leuenberger on 13 March 2002, warning that traffic chaos would result in the peak traffic period before Easter if the one-way restriction on HGVs using the St Gotthard tunnel was not lifted.
The alternating one-way system artificially restricts the capacity of the tunnel, which is one of the main north-south trans-alpine road axes, to a maximum of 3,500 HGVs per day.
In the week before Easter last year, when there was no one-way restriction in place, the Swiss Government was obliged to temporarily lift its ban on HGVs driving by night to prevent saturation of this route, a measure which increased the throughput of the St Gotthard motorway from 5,500 HGVs per day to 6,500.

Scotsman.com Sport - Football - It's raining goals at Easter Road
While boss Tony Mowbray may have viewed the visit of relegation-haunted Livingston as something of an accident waiting to happen in the wake of the Easter Road outfit's crushing of Rangers last weekend, it was apparent from the opening few minutes Hibs would be in little danger.
For a long spell it looked as if the assertion that the recently-installed scoreboard at Easter Road could cope with a double figure score-line as shot after shot rained in on Roddy McKenzie's goal would be tested to the full.
His caution, though, was understandable given Hibs' propensity, not just during his tenure at Easter Road, to fall back to earth with a mighty thump after recording a notable victory.
