The Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Association was an ice hockey league in Canada that played three seasons.
They formed in 1906 replacing the Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey League.
In 1909 they were replaced with the Canadian Hockey Association.

Professional hockey in Quebec is long and very complex but in a brief, very brief history the first team was the Quebec Bulldogs who played in the Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Association 1908-09, the Canadian Hockey Association 1909-10 and the National Hockey Association 1910-17.
The Québec Bulldogs franchise was purchased by H P Thompson of Hamilton and the team joined the National Hockey League in 1920 as Hamilton Tigers.

In 1909 the Canadian Hockey Association was formed, an offspring of the Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey League which had allowed professionals to play alongside amateurs during the preceding season.
At the time, neither man had an inkling that the league they were scrambling to put together – the National Hockey Association – would someday be supplanted by the greatest of all hockey leagues.

Born in North Battleford, Sasktachewan, Francis was a fine goalie who played minor hockey and junior with the hometown Beavers before heading south as a pro in the Eastern (Amateur) Hockey League.
He was a consultant to the Amateur Hockey Association of the United States, an organizer of the St. Louis hockey development schools, and the US College Resource Centre.
Francis was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982.

The Swarthmore Hockey Club began playing their games in Hershey on February 17, 1931, and by the end of the season the game had caught on so well that the Ice Palace was remodeled to provide a larger ice surface and hosting hockey games became the building's primary function.
The league was renamed the American Hockey League for the 1941-1942 season.

In 1938, the BEARS officially joined the American Hockey League and have remained a fixture in the AHL for 61 consecutive seasons.

Westwick was born on April 23, 1876 in Ottawa, Ontario, the same locale where he would develop and hone hockey skills that would carry him to a Hall-Of-Fame career.
Westwick, formerly a goalie in junior hockey, was forced to play forward during a game and impressed his coach so much with his puck handling and skating style that he never again donned the goalie pads.
After his final year of Senior hockey with the Ottawa Capitals in 1899-1900, Westwick joined back with the Ottawa Silver Seven in the Canadian Amateur Hockey League where the forward continued his scoring prowess.
