Milenyo was expected to hit landfall today in the northern and eastern parts of Samar.
As of yesterday morning, Milenyo was spotted 220 kilometers east-northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of 100 kph.

All is set for Region 8's participation in the Department of Tourism's (DOT) 'Best of the Regions' showcase in Intramuros, Manila on September 16 to 30, 2003.
Dubbed "Rayhak Ha Siranganan Bisayas Ha Intramuros" meaning "Sunrise in Eastern Visayas Shines in Intramuros", will showcase the best tourist attractions as well as business opportunities of the region's six provinces of Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Samar, Northern Samar and Eastern Samar and the cities of Tacloban, Maasin, Calbayog and Ormoc.
