In 2004, the MTS Manitoba Games were held in Dauphin from August 11th to 15th, and triathlon was one of the 12 sports.
The triathlon event was open to athletes aged 11 to 19 with the exception of athletes who competed in a national or international championship as a member of the Provincial Junior Team in the two years prior to the Games (January 2002 to September 2004).
Note that the registration deadline for the regional qualifying events may be as much as two weeks before the event in some regions.

Winners in each gender/age category were selected to that region's Manitoba Winter Games Cross Country Ski Team.
