Easton is an inner city area of the city of Bristol in the United Kingdom.
Easton is one of the most deprived areas in the South West of England, with the Lawrence Hill ward the most deprived ward in the region and one of the most deprived in Britain.
Easton has two local railway stations, Lawrence Hill and Stapleton Road, which are served by trains on the Severn Beach Line plus occasional services to and from Gloucester or South Wales, but which lie on the main line to South Wales, the Midlands, Scotland and London.

Easton is a pretty, pleasant suburban community now, but the town began its history as the rough frontier of the Taunton North Purchase and acted as the hunting, fishing and lumbering preserve of early Taunton settlers.
The town's industrial history essentially begins with the discovery of bog iron which made Easton part of an important late 17th and 18th century iron producing region in southwestern Massachusetts.
The first commercial steel made in the colonies was said to have been made in Easton and was evidently used for muskets.

The Bristol Trades Council organised a gathering of 15,000 people to meet the arrival of the three at Temple Meads Station, and then they all marched to a rally on Durdham Down in a procession in which the Barton Hill "cotton girls" were given the leading position, as they were by now well-practised well-ordered marchers.
The demonstrators and organisers who were tried in Bristol were convicted and imprisoned, by courts whose magistrates included a high proportion of employers and other people with prejudicial interests.
After a trial which brought nationwide publicity for the attacks on the Bristol demonstration and for the labour movement, Tillett was acquitted and received a hero's welcome when he visited Bristol again.
