  Comics2Film: Detectives, Inc.
A project that first started rolling around in the head of comic scribe Don McGregor in the 1960's is finally set to debut as a film at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego.
Although the movie was not originally intended for public release, interest in the comic changed that.
It was Eclipse that commissioned McGregor to adapt the screenplay as A Terror of Dying Dreams with artist Gene Colan.

Shortly afterwards, new comic book rights were licenced around the world to develop original 007 adventures in the graphic novel format.
Eclipse Comics produced the first ever original English-language 007 comic book outing with "Permission To Die", written and drawn by Mike Grell, in 1989 - with concluding issue published in 1991.
Since then, no new original 007 comic books have been produced, but some comics are still available to purchase from the original publisher.

 Fist Full of Comics & Games
Normally this is were I rant on what ever comics I’ve picked up that week, but this time I’m going to do something really different.
On Saturday May 5th (hey it’s Cinco de Mayo!) the comic book industry offered tons of free comic books to the general public as an incentive to try and pick up new readers.
Whether I like the comic or not I am extremely grateful, thrilled and honored that the companies and the creators took their time and money to put so many comic books together and then gave them away for free.

DC Comics initiates first of several lawsuits against Fawcett for Captain Marvel, claiming that the character infringed on DC’s copyright for Superman.
DC is unable to use the name Captain Marvel as a title, due to Marvel Comics’ publication of a title and character of the same name.
#1 was one of the first comic books to fall victim to the "speculator" phenomenon (where comics are bought in anticipation of future value), with many dealers and collectors buying multiple copies right off of the delivery trucks; as a result, relatively few issues ever reached the newsstands.

Wes Huffor and the gang over at Galactic Comics: Eclipse have just released the ashcan version of Jilted Love Collection: Beautiful Version 2.
McConahy is also helping to redesign many of Galactics already existing comic title logos as well as for books that have yet to be released.
It is a new comic from Mad Science Records writen and drawn by Ralphie Repulisive.

 Sleeping Giant Comics
I was skeptical about this movie, knowing little more than “it’s about comic books” as one person said to me. If you are a comics fan, you will probably like this movie.
Eclipse Comics during their heyday in the 80s, published many fine comics and graphic albums.
But I generally flip through it on the off chance that something therein will appeal to me. So it was that I stumbled across many Eclipse comics shortly after returning the disappointing FF annual to its place on the new comics shelf.

 Busted Knuckles: Beau Smith
I was one of the few if not only men in comics that liked and participated in sports, enjoyed grade B-Action movies and had done time in jail.
The book has all of the characters that you enjoy on the show and the best part is that the comic is just as action packed and filled with the same edge-of-your-seat tension that the TV series addicts you with.
Not in comics, but the first page of JSA #2 shows you how to do it if you really have to.

The Comics Warehouse began as a retail back-issue sales wing for Eclipse Enterprises, a company that published comics, graphic albums, and trading cards from 1977 to 1994.
Although Eclipse went out of business in 1994, the Comics Warehouse continued to sell Eclipse back issues through 2002, when the Eclipse stock was entirely sold out.
All Claypool Comics back issues are available, but NONE of the 1,500 items published by Eclipse are in stock.

I was fortunate enough to get #1 to #19 off the racks, but my comic shop never gave me issues #20 to #24...
The first two amazed me and the rest were only okay for me. I think I went in with to high of expectations though.
I've heard they only get better but I also see that they only get more expensive so it'll have to be a gradual thing.

One of the first independent colour comic companies to use the direct sales market emerging in the 1980's, Eclipse comics used several of the Hillman characters as the basis for their new universe, bringing back Valkyrie, Skywolf and the Heap, and introducing a new Airboy.
Additionally they published the first Champions mini-series, prior to Hero Games setting up their own comics company, Hero Comics; and they also published a comic based on Fantasy Games Unlimited superhero RPG, Villains and Vigilantes.
Pulp hero The Spider, freedom fighter Zorro and British icons, John Steed and Emma Peel (in the Steed and Mrs.Peel), all experienced new adventures.
