In a report released yesterday, the OECD says that Canada's "economic activity is expected to gradually pick up again" toward the end of this year and through 2004 as the global economy improves.
The international economic policy organization highlights the outbreak of SARS in Toronto and the finding of one case of BSE (mad cow disease) in Alberta as events that could affect interest rates.

Between 2004 and 2007, Toronto is expected to average growth of 3.7 per cent per year, matching Calgary for the top performance in the country.
