Born in 1959 in what is now Toronto, Ed Greenwood is an avid fantasy and science fiction writer, collector, and reader, whose main claim to fame is his creation of The Forgotten Realms??(arguably the largest and most detailed fantasy world-setting ever).
Ed is currently assisting in the preparation of a Forgotten Realms television series.
Ed grew up in North York, Ontario, Canada, holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree (Honors: Journalism) from Ryerson Polytechnic University, and lives on a farm near Cobourg, Ontario?with (among other things), well over 40,000 books.

Ed Greenwood (born 1959) is a Canadian library clerk who invented the Forgotten Realms Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting.
Ed Greenwood and Jeff Grubb together penned the Forgotten Realms Campaign Boxed Set in 1987, for TSR—though Greenwood had used the Forgotten Realms for his home Dungeons and Dragons campaign since 1975.
Ed has published over two hundred articles in Dragon magazine and Polyhedron newszine, is a lifetime charter member of the Role Playing Game Associaton (RPGA) network, has written over thirty books and modules for TSR, and been Gen Con Game Fair guest of honor several times.

Ed's been around for a long time, and no one, not even his most fervent detractors, can argue with a straight face that he's uncreative....puh-lease.
Bear in mind that I like a lot of Ed's stories, more particularly his short stories in anthologies, but there is usually a trend he tends to follow in his books, and it's hard not to speculate.
The truth is, the notion that Ed is a bit on the randy side because of how he portrays El isn't limited to the general public.
