Edwin Reinecke (January 7, 1924-) was a California politician.
On April 7, 1974 the Watergate grand jury indicted Reinecke on three charges of perjury over his testimony before a United States Senate committee.
Also in 1974, Reinecke tried to run for Governor of California, but failed to win nomination.

Said he: "Reinecke deliberately lied for one reason—to protect the still very powerful John Mitchell, a man who could help him become Governor." Reinecke, who will appeal the verdict, faces a maximum term of five years and a fine of $2,000.

Professor Reinecke’s research interests involve all aspects of the chemistry of natural products including their isolation, structure determination, synthesis and biological activity.
Working in collaboration with anthropologists, botanists, pharmacologists, and microbiologists his group examines characterized medicinal plants from Pakistan, Bolivia and China as sources of lead compounds for drug development.
