Letter from League of the South
Ed Sebesta is well-known in the Southern nationalist movement as a paranoid homosexual from Dallas, Texas who's relationship with a fl lover has apparently resulted in some sort of kooky obsession with the idea that a massive "neo-Confederate" conspiracy exists to take over the United States.
Ed Sebesta is cut from the same cloth as all conspiracy theorists - paranoid extremists who think that complex social and political trends can all be explained and understood as being the result of sinister workings of "hidden hands" in society.
Sebesta's partner is a disgraceful ad hominem attack that does nothing to undermine his arguments.

Sebesta was not surprised when it was Tyler who finally stepped forward to help the parents at Jeff Davis, precisely because Tyler is not tied to the old Dallas fl establishment.
Sebesta, who led an unsuccessful fight in the early '90s to have the statue of Robert E. Lee removed from Lee Park, is perhaps better known away from home than here.
The main case Sebesta tries to make with his research is that the Civil War re-enactors, local history buffs, and sword-collectors who show up on the surface of issues like the Jefferson Davis school-renaming often are tied, whether they know it or not, to much darker themes and even to organizations that promote racism.

His goal is nothing less than cultural genocide, which the UN defines as “Any action which has the aim or effect of depriving them of their integrity as distinct peoples, or of their cultural values or ethnic identities…” The South has a long, proud history, with roots in the Anglo-Celtic peoples of Britain.
By discrediting Neo-Confederates and their organizations, Sebesta means to destroy the effectiveness of their propaganda apparatus, which he believes is the evangelist of southern identity.

Sebesta was plumbing a different phenomenon--tenured professors, pundits, politicians and clergy who maintain a double public life, contained and civilized before the big audience but extremely radical, even seditious, in articles and lectures traded more or less behind the scenes in small journals and on Web pages.
Sebesta should direct his quill on some of the Democratic party's jewels that also embrace (overtly or covertly) the "neo-Confederate" stance he so despises: a current senator from W. Virginia and a former governor of AR.
Sebesta's a peculiar figure who exhibits some of the strangest tendencies of the radical left, not the least among them being that of double standards.

Ed responds that he has never expressed contempt toward the Southern States or the Southern people.
Other than alleging that our entire history is the story of oppressing minorities, our heroes are all evil, and we are today a “reactionary” force that deserves to be “broken,” Ed Sebesta is the Southern people’s best pal.

[Vision2020] Ed Iverson: Wilson's Biweekly Mouthpiece
To the Editor: I was shocked to learn that the Daily News has given Ed Iverson, someone closely associated with Douglas Wilson, a biweekly column.
In December, 2003, when 1200 Palousians signed a petition condemning Wilson’s views on slavery, homosexuality, and women, I’m sure that they concerned that Northern Idaho’s repetition would again be tarnished by extremist views.
Historian Ed Sebesta claims that "this book seems to incorporate every 'Lost Cause' and modern Neo-Confederate idea." I wonder how many of Wilson’s pet ideas we will read every two weeks from Ed Iverson’s pen?
