Edward Fenech Adami (born February 7, 1934, Birkirkara) was the Prime Minister of Malta from 1987 until 1996 and from 1998 until 2004.
Fenech Adami joined the Nationalist Party in the early 1960s, establishing a reputation as a reserved but determined and capable constituency official.
Since becoming President Dr Fenech Adami has been twice found guilty by the courts of libel, first he was found guilty of libelling the Leader of the opposition on the eve of the EU referendum and the second time of libelling Dr. Chris Cardona on the eve of the 2003 general elections.
