Reel Criticism - Eddie Murphy in Pluto Nash   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
The story of "The Adventures Of Pluto Nash" which was originally titled with the much easier to swallow "Pluto Nash", originally began in the early months of 2000.
At the time, "Pluto Nash" was to be a departure for its star Eddie Murphy who had been muddled in remakes (though successful remakes) of "The Nutty Professor" and "Doctor Dolittle".
He himself is much better than "Pluto Nash" and while he deserves some of the blame for agreeing to this project in the first place, he himself at least gives it a good old College try.

Holmes, who died in 1988 from AIDS-related complications, is mentioned as a co-conspirator in a 16-count federal indictment alleging that his old buddy Eddie Nash led a racketeering enterprise for a quarter century and participated in the Wonderland murders.
The theory is that Nash had the Wonderland gang killed because they, with the help of John Holmes, had robbed Nash and his bodyguard, Gregory DeWitt Niles, a 300-pound martial-arts specialist, of a small fortune in heroin, cocaine, jewels and cash.
Most recently, in 1995, the feds hauled Nash away in his jammies for possessing crystal meth, but they had to let him go when it turned out the contraband in question was actually a mothball.
