Thomas Edward "Eddie" Tolan (September 29, 1908 - January 31, 1967) was an American athlete, winner of two gold medals at the 1932 Summer Olympics.
Born in Denver, Colorado, Eddie Tolan, also an American football player, won Michigan state championships as a high school boy.
In 1932, by then winner of several AAU Championships, Tolan qualifies for the 100 m and 200 m in the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles, although Ralph Metcalfe beats him twice in the Olympic Trials.

Eddie Tolan, is a step past Williams and has evidently hit the tape with his left hand as Percy plunges forward to breast it and win by inches.
