What is Karma   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-06)
Karma, for these reasons, naturally implies reincarnation or rebirth (though the opposite is not true) since thoughts and deeds in past lives will affect one's current situation.
This samsaric karma comes in two 'flavours' - 'good' karma, which leads to positive/pleasurable experiences, like high rebirth (as a deva, asura, or human), and bad karma which leads to suffering and low rebirth (as a hell-sufferer, as a preta, or as an animal).
While the action of karma may be compared with the Western notions of sin and judgment by God or gods, Karma is held to operate as an inherent principle of the Universe without the intervention of any supernatural being.

 Edgar Cayce on Karma
Although our subconscious memory has an effect and influence on how we think, react, what choices we make, and even how we look, the component of free will is ever within our grasp.
One may be born, for example, as a genius or prodigy, in math for example, if he develops this skill or has been of service now or having done so to a prodigous degree in the past or present.
Again, it must be said that Karma's purpose is not simply to cause suffering, but to give the individual an opportunity to experience every ascect of life.

 Family Karma
Drawing upon contemporary family relationships as well as family relationships for individuals who received guidance from psychic Edgar Cayce, Family Karma demonstrates that rather than being some kind of debt or punishment, karma is simply the memory individuals possess from past-life relationships, oftentimes with members of their own family.
Reincarnation and karma are the means through which individuals can gain an awareness of themselves, their relationships to all others, and ultimately their relationship to the Creator.
With this in mind, Family Karma demonstrates the exacting nature of individual responsibility and it allows for the ever-present hopefulness of personal free will.
