Edgar John Benson, PC, FCA, B.Comm (born May 28, 1923) is a retired Canadian politician and businessman.
Benson was a chartered accountant by profession, and co-owner of a local radio station.
Benson was Minister of Finance under Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau from 1968 to 1972.

Benson was a teacher throughout his career, first in Portland, Maine, then in his Boston studio, and later at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

 Benson Orchestra of Chicago
Edgar A. Benson was a 'cellist' who became an impresario, managing many bands in Chicago from 1920 to 1930.
The Number One orchestra was originally directed by pianist Roy Bargy, who left the Benson organization at the end of 1922, and Don Bestor, also a pianist, took his place at the front of a new orchestra that for the first eight months featured the forward-looking saxophone work of Frank Trumbauer.

Raymond Benson is the author of the James Bond novels The Man With the Red Tattoo, Never Dream of Dying, DoubleShot, High Time to Kill, The Facts of Death, and Zero Minus Ten, as well as the novelizations of the films Die Another Day, The World is Not Enough, and Tomorrow Never Dies.
His Bond short stories have been published in Playboy and TV Guide magazines.
