Edgar Julius Jung - Biocrawler   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
Jung was a Calvinist lawyer and leader of the right-wing Conservative Revolutionary movement, which stood not only in opposition to what he perceived as the decadent foreign-imposed Weimar Republic, with its liberal parliamentarian system, but also to the mass movement of Nazism.
Jung had envisaged that Weimar Germany was tediously on the brink of revolutionary turmoil with the very real prospect of Red Revolution sponsored by the Soviet Union or a Brown Revolution of the Nazis coming to life.
In 1934, Jung was killed in Hitler's infamous blood purge known as the Night of the Long Knives, because he was the author of a speech held by Chancellor Franz von Papen in Marburg, in which the conservative criticism of national socialism was clearly formulated.

Jung a voulu faire de cet ouvrage une sorte de "bible" de la "révolution conservatrice", une révolution qu'il voulait culturelle et annonciatrice d'un grand bouleversement politique.

As the young Edgar's engagement with the world at large grows, his personal revelations are informed by it with increasing frequency.

Outside Germany, some essential representatives of conservative revolution were Julius Evola and René Guénon; its predecessor of sorts was Gabriele D'Annunzio.
After the national socialists seized power, the representatives of conservative revolution turned their backs to society and went into "internal emigration", which can be seen as the last public political step of the loosely connected movement.
Although conservative revolution as a term may be forgotten, the works of Julius Evola, Ernst Jünger, Carl Schmitt still show high sales figures; the thinkers of the new right like Alain de Benoist or Alexander Dugin also have their niche.
