History: The Colle System was introduced in the 1920s by the well-known attacking master Edgard Colle (1897-1932).
It became apparent that the Colle king bishop was a very strong threat; thus, Black came to the idea that one good system would be to blunt the diagonal and play the e-pawn two squares as well for a freeing move.
