		Edguy was founded in 1992 by the 14-year-old students Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig, Dirk Sauer, and Dominik Storch.
		Edguy does not claim to represent any ideology; Tobias Sammet claimed "We are not political and we are not religious; at least there is no key message in our songs telling you what to think in terms of anything".
		Edguy also employs lengthy and epic sections in almost every album.

		Being familiar only with the Avantasia material I was hoping for similar stuff, and though both Avantasia and Edguy bear a number of similarities, the differences are numerous enough to distinguish the two.
		Being an Edguy-dummy I can't tell you which song is from which album so bear with me. I can tell you this: I am not a Metal-head, but the power and energy of these recordings is instantly captivating.
		I think Edguy has released some 5 releases prior to this, and along with 2 Avantasia albums that gives the band quite a number of songs to pick from.
