Free Tibet Campaign calls on the organisers of the Tattoo to undertake to never again invite the Chinese PLA to Edinburgh unless the Chinese Army leaves Tibet and ceases to act as a force of repression in China.
Given that the Chinese PLA wanted to use the opportunity offered by the Tattoo to present a benign view of its army, this was an important victory for the campaign given the degree of negative publicity faced by the Chinese PLA because of its involvement in human rights abuses in Tibet and China.
Free Tibet Campaign activists sought to bring the message home to the Tattoo organiser's of the real story of the PLA as one which remains a force of occupation in Tibet and a force of repression in China on the 15th anniversary of the massacre in Tiananmen Square.
