An editorial cartoon, also known as a political cartoon, is an illustration or comic strip containing a political or social message, that usually relates to current events or personalities.
Although most western editorial cartoonists by necessity occupy the middle political ground, this is by no means true of all cartoonists and there is a spectrum of political commentary in cartoons which runs from the extreme right through the centre to the extreme left.
Political cartooning can be a passionate business and a full political spectrum, from extreme right through the centre ground to extreme left, is represented in the work of cartoonists from around the globe.

It sparked a panic among America's editorial cartoonists, many of whom put down their pens and convened in Washington, D.C. They formed their own advocacy organization, the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, to defend their careers--to the end, if need be.
But editorial cartoonists kept their jobs, continued to poke fun and provoke feelings with their drawings, and reached a new level of importance during the era of Vietnam and the civil rights movement.

In your sick mind i am sure you wont admit that both political parties have there share of numbsculls (sic) but i am beginning to think this once great party has more like you than like sen Jeffords who refused to become a rubber stamp like the rest are becoming.
It would be easier to just present what most of the kids think, but since I teach debate, it is important for kids to understand both sides of an issue so that they can better support their personal beliefs.
It is easy to find plenty of left and moderate political cartoons on the web, that express elements of the issue.

If you can stomach political cartoons from the other side of the fence then these people serve up about the best out there: http://www.coxandforkum.com/ and the caricatures by Cox are pretty good.
I love his work, and his style translates very well to the disappearing space of the editorial cartoon in today’s newspapers.
You may not agree with the politics of Mike Luckovich or Mike Peters, but their cartoons won them both Pulitzers for editorial cartooning, so I think an interview with them is more than worthy of a link.
