Go to Edmonton and waunder around Whyte Avenue which has lots of shops, coffee houses, restaurants, etc. We also have a very nice river valley for walking, biking, blading etc.
Not sure of the dates but the end of July we have a fun thing downtown called the Taste of Edmonton.
