In conjunction with Professor George Dunbar, of Edinburgh, Barker compiled a Greek and English lexicon, which was well received by the public, and the same good fortune attended his edition of Lemprière's "Classical Dictionary." Whilst living with the Parrs, Barker conceived the idea of reprinting the "Thesaurus Græcæ Linguæ".
Barker's "Parriana; or Notices of the Rev. Samuel Parr, LL.D.," in two volumes, was published in1828-9.
