Investigating traditional elements in modern architecture is more complicated than is usually thought, especially because the presence of such elements cannot be observed immediately.
Such investigations could form the basis for the development of architecture which would function as a model of a more conscientious tectonic composition and would not follow all the modern trends.
The paper illustrates the influence of the tradition with two projects carried out by the architect Edo Mihevc in his large Primorsko opus.

This kind of organization was characteristic for their successors after World War II, for example Edo Mihevc(1911-1985) and Edvard Ravnikar(1907-1994).
Presently at the Fakulteta za arhitekturo (Faculty of Architecture) there are 12 studios directed by different professors due to the increase in student population from 15 enrolled in the first years to 120 in this year.

The school started to expand in these years and new professors were hired, but Ravnikar's and Mihevc's studios at the University have remained dominant.
