(1) Son of Dryas, king of the Thracian Edoni, threatened Dionysus with a scourge when he was wandering about on the Mount Nysa with his nurses, which made them let the holy implements fall to the ground, while the god sought shelter with Thetis in the sea.
In accordance with the god's prophecy that his death alone could deliver the land from its temporary barrenness, he was led by the Edoni to Mount Pangeeus, where Dionysus caused him to be torn to pieces by horses.

As for the Thracians, the Pieres inhabited Pieria and the region about Olympus; the Paeones, the region on both sides of the Axius River, which on that account is called Amphaxitis; the Edoni and Bisaltae, the rest of the country as far as the Strymon.
Of these two peoples the latter are called Bisaltae alone, whereas a part of the Edoni are called Mygdones, a part Edones, and a part Sithones.

She controlled the rain and invented the sacred bullroarer.
Her colleges of fifty priests or priestesses were considered infamous and monstrous by the Greeks, probably because the Edoni were fierce enemies, or because Kottys was particularly worshipped by lesbians and gays people.
Although the ancient Greeks accepted male homosexual behaviour, it was seriously constrained by the insistence that one male had to be dominant, while the other was expected to act submissively and be so young as to lack facial hair.

OrthodoxyToday.org Blog » Fr. Patrick Reardon: The Church in Thessaloniki
As Paul and Silas came near Amphipolis, they could not help but notice beside the road the large statue of a lion that had already stood in that place for nearly 500 years.
It was a monument erected there to commemorate the victory of the Athenians over the Edoni in 437 BC, and today’s visitors to northern Greece still stop to admire and photograph it, almost two and a half millennia after that battle.
Paul and his company, proceeding almost directly south the next day, and still walking parallel to the coast, arrived in Apollonia, whence they proceeded due west to Thessaloniki some 38 miles away (Acts 17:1).

 Half the Dane in Edoni...
As explained earlier, I believe the Edoni became the Jutes because Jutes were called "Eotens," wherefore Drott should be so viewed, or at least stemming from the Jutes.
The terms above that resemble "dragon" also resemble "Trojan/Thracian," and as I've mentioned elsewhere, the Edonian progenitor, "Dryad/Dryas" appears as a variation of "Troad and "Troy." That the Edonians were involved in Britain is implied where Dryas was a lord of Greek Calydon, for the Caledonians of Britain are thereby indicated in turn.
That the Edonians were from the dragon sun god, Tammuz, may be evident (among other things) in the similarity between "Edoni" and "Adoni," the latter being Tammuz to the Greeks.
