Dermot Richard Claud Chichester, 7th Marquess of Donegall, LVO (born April 18, 1916) is the second son of Arthur Chichester, 4th Baron Templemore, whom he succeeded in the Barony.
Eventually reported missing in action and believed to have been killed, Chichester was in fact captured in November 1942 during the North African Campaign, and was a prisoner of war in Italy until escaping in June 1944.
In 1975 he also succeeded his distant cousin as 7th Marquess of Donegall, being the descendant of Arthur Chichester, 1st Baron Templemore, grandson of Arthur Chichester, 1st Marquess of Donegall.

Edward Chichester, 4th Marquess of Donegall (June 11, 1799) - (January 20, 1889) was born in Great Cumberland Place, London, and was educated at Eton and Trinity College Dublin, graduating BA in 1822.
He served as Church of Ireland Dean of Raphoe from 1831 to 1871, and succeeded his elder brother as fourth Marquess of Donegall at the age of 84.
He died six years later in St Leonards on Sea, Sussex, and was buried in Kensal Green Cemetery, London.

In 1818 Chichester was elected to the House of Commons as Tory Member of Parliament for Carrickfergus, and two years later became representative for Belfast.
Chichester was admittted to the Privy Council in 1830, becoming at the time of his death its senior member, and was the following year made a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Guelphic Order.
Lord Donegall died in Brighton in 1883 and was buried in Belfast.

Edward Chichester, 1st Viscount Chichester (1568) - (July 8, 1648) was the younger brother of Arthur Chichester, 1st Baron Chichester.
He was knighted in 1616, and after his brother's death in 1625 was in his memory ennobled as Viscount Chichester, of Carrickfergus in the County of Antrim, and Baron Chichester, of Belfast in the County of Antrim, both in the Peerage of Ireland.
He took his seat in the Irish House of Lords in 1634, and died fourteen years later in Eggesford, Devon, where he was buried.
