Edward J. Breen (1899 -- 1978) of Fort Dodge, Iowa, attended the University of Wisconsin and Drake University.
Breen was a member of the Democratic Party and was president of the Young Democratic Club of Iowa in 1933.
Breen was elected to the Iowa state senate in 1936, serving until 1942.

Robert L. Breen, who is editor and half owner of the Bradford Republican, has made that paper one of the best of the country journals of Illinois and is recognized as one of the foremost citizens of Bradford.
Robert L. Breen was seven years of age when the family removed to Lacon, and he attended a parochial school there until he was thirteen years old, when he entered the office of the old Lacon Democrat and began learning the printer's trade.
Breen attended the country schools and after completing the course offered there became a student in the Academy of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at Peoria, Illinois, from which she was graduated.

Bishop Emeritus Vincent De Paul Breen often referred to his four-year tenure as chief shepherd of Metuchen as "the closest thing to heaven," Cardinal Anthony J. Bevilacqua of Philadelphia said in his homily during the bishop’s funeral Mass April 7.
Bishop Breen is the first bishop to have been buried in the cathedral cemetery, as well as the first bishop of Metuchen to die in the diocese’s 22-year history.
