Gallagher and Shean was a highly successful double-act on vaudeville and Broadway in the 1910s and 1920s, consisting of Edward Gallagher (1873 - March 28, 1929) and Al Shean (real name Albert Schoenberg) (May 12, 1868 - August 12, 1949).
Gallagher and Shean first paired up during the tour of "The Rose Maid" in 1912, but they quarreled and split up two years later.
The case claimed that Gallagher and Shean's act was "unique and irreplaceable." The comedians' defense was that their act was a mediocrity and the judge initially found in their favor, although the decision was later reversed.

This is my Great Grandfather Thomas George Gallagher, he was an only child, pretty unusual in 1869, his mother died when he was two from Smallpox, and his father died when he was 14 from Consumption.
There is an attempt by the Ministry of Defence to collect samples of DNA from living members of Soldiers who died, just in case bodies are found, which has happened and living members have been traced.
The French handed over Arras to Commonwealth forces in the spring of 1916 and the system of tunnels upon which the town is built were used and developed in preparation for the major offensive planned for April 1917.

IRAD does not have an Edward Gallagher/Galligan --Mary Barrett marriage.
1835 Ireland, daughter of James Barrett and Bridget (Delia) Gallagher, but I have to believe Mary would have been married in Illinois circa 1856 to 1860...I have no idea to whom she was married and am currently checking various Chicago area Roman Catholic parish registers trying to find her marriage.
I'll be sure to let you know if I find that Mary Barrett married an Edward Gallagher/Galligan.
