Geelong Football Club - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Geelong is honoured to have the VFL's award for the best and fairest player in a VFL/AFL season named after one of its own, in Charles Brownlow, a Geelong and VFL administrator who died in early 1924.
Fittingly, the first player to win the award would be Geelong's champion, Edward "Carji" Greeves in 1924.
Greeves would finish second and third in the award for many seasons afterwards, proving what a wonderful player he was.
