The Edward R. Madigan State Fish and Wildlife Area is a 974-acre (3.8 km²) conservation area located in the U.S. state of Illinois.
Founded in 1970 as Railsplitter State Park, it was renamed in 1995 in honor of Edward R. Madigan, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the town of Lincoln.
The nearest limited-access exit to the Madigan State Fish and Wildlife Area is exit 123 on Interstate 55, where Business 55 interesects with Interstate 55.

On February 13, Secretary of Agriculture Edward Madigan announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture will provide $6.75 million authorized by the 1990 Food, Agriculture, Conservation and Trade Act (often referred to as the 'farm bill') to fund payments to producers who want to implement Water Quality Incentive Practices (WQIP) under USDA's Agricultural Conservation Program (ACP).
"This is a new approach to enhance the nation's water quality," Madigan said.
A complete farm water quality resource management plan will be developed for producers who enroll in the WQIP.
