Edward Taylor, whose sister he afterward married, he galloped on and found that youth by his gun, wounded and covered with blood.

Edward Spencer's Original Pension Application was filed by P. Lockwood whose applications were twice rejected by the Pension Office in 1890 and 1894 for insufficient evidence of disability.

After recovering from wounds suffered in the assault, Scott participated in the unsuccessful offensive against Montreal, where he identifies the U.S. Army's problem: poorly trained militias in the command of leaders selected for their positions in the local communities rather than their skills or talents as military leaders.
On July 5, 1841, Scott assumed command of the entire army, a position that he would hold for the next twenty years and would use to effect continued advancements in discipline and the standardization of drill and tactics.
Scott and his invasion force conducted the first U.S. major amphibious landing at Vera Cruz on April 8, 1847, and secured the port city with minimal casualties.

Edward Taylor "Ted" Scott (15 November 1883 - 22 April 1932) was a British journalist, who was editor and briefly co-owner of the Manchester Guardian, and the younger son of its legendary editor-owner C.
After a brief spell at the University of Oxford, Ted Scott attended the London School of Economics, and eventually took a University of London external degree, having left the LSE to work as private secretary to Sidney Olivier, the governor of Jamaica.
Ted Scott's most important action as editor was to move the paper from its initial position of support for Ramsay MacDonald's National Government towards the opposition.
