Prince Edward was born on 10 March, 1964 at Buckingham Palace.
He was baptised on 2 May, 1964 at the private chapel at Windsor Castle by Robert Woods, Dean of Windsor and was given the names Edward Anthony Richard Louis.
Both the Queen's great-grandfather, Edward VII and her uncle, the Duke of Windsor bore the name of Edward.
