Commissioner Lewis is a retired employee of the Miami Conservancy District where she won the Water Management Association’s “Distinguished Service” Award for her 10 years of dedicated work on behalf of Ohio water resources.
Commissioner Lewis is a member of the Montgomery County Board of Health, the board of the West Dayton Neighbors for Education, Inc., and the Dayton Sister City Committee.
Commissioner Lewis and her late husband, former City Commissioner Lloyd E. Lewis, Jr., are the parents of one daughter and one son (deceased), and they have one grandchild.

Lewis saw plenty of needy children suffering from acute health problems.
Today, through the Lloyd and Edythe Lewis Fund for Black Children's Health Care, the Lewises are helping underprivileged African-American children get the care they need so that they can stay in school and become productive citizens.

Frank was born in Oxford, KS in 1847, died in Centralia, Lewis Co., WA in 1946.
His son, Jay, nine years old when he arrived in Lewis Co., later became editor of the "Boistfort Chronicle." While at that newspaper, he published in it a series of articles taken from the journal he kept while on the year+ wagon train journey from Lima, Wisconsin.
The families were in the Winlock, Lewis County and Chehalis/Grays Harbour Counties in the late 1880's through 1920's for sure and even later on some of the lines.
