The movement of Eggbuckland ward and the community of Mount Wise is not suggested in order to bring divided communities together; it is suggested merely as a means to placing Devonport ward in its entirety in the northern constituency, this despite the lack of — indeed, flying in the face of — community connections.
With regard to Eggbuckland being taken into the new Sutton, the problem I perceive there is that much of the southern part of the Moor View ward has very strong natural community links with parts of Eggbuckland but it is also an unusual shape.
Large areas of Eggbuckland, not all but large areas, and large areas of Moor View perceive themselves historically to be Plymouth Sutton and therefore to some degree it could be argued that you are reversing the confusion which currently exists.

This ward is not clearly quite the same as the current Eggbuckland ward but the vast majority of the ward is the same and it has the same name as that that was included in Sutton prior to 1997.
Originally they kept Eggbuckland within Sutton but they changed their mind because of local ties within that and to keep all of the areas that were formally in Plymouth Drake in the same constituency together.
The new Eggbuckland ward, as has been said, is also a very different animal to the old Eggbuckland ward and includes parts of the community of Manaton which is also partly in the Ham ward and it includes Crown Hill which it shares with the Budshead ward.
