 Welcome to Egham Regatta
Egham Regatta is run on the River Thames from the Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club and the historic Runnymede Pleasure Grounds on the outskirts of Egham.
As far as records show, the first Egham Regatta was held in 1909 and there are references to it in the ‘Lock-to-Lock Times’ of 1910, 1911, 1912 and 1913, but it was ceased in 1914 due to the hostilities of World War I. In 1913, the Regatta was affiliated to the Skiff Racing Association.
Egham Regatta is the only regatta in the country that still provides racing for rowing, skiffing and punting.

Egham Hythe is the a place between Egham and Staines in Surrey, England, extending south of the River Thames towards Thorpe Lea.
Though Egham Hythe suffered a particularly severe flood in 1947, the population increased greatly in the post-war period, as it did in much of the south-east of England.
Today, Egham Hythe has two primary schools (Thorpe Lea School and The Hythe School)and is home to the area secondary school Magna Carta School, a new community centre and is within the south westerly bounds of the M25 motorway.

 Historic Egham and Magna Carta
The historic meadows of Runnymede, where King John put his seal to the Magna Carta in 1215, lies within the former Egham Urban District Council, now part of Runnymede Borough Council since April 1974.
Both the Magna Carta Memorial, and the Kennedy Memorial are located at Runnymede meadow, whilst nearby at Coopers Hill, is the Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial, which records the names of 20,000 airmen who died in the Second World War, and have no known grave.
The rights established under Magna Carta have thus been given the force of law for over a period of seven centuries.
