1985. Insectivorous Bats Victims of Israeli Campaign . BATS. Vol 2, No 4:1-4.
The campaign began when the Egyptian Fruit Bat (Rousettus aegyptiacus) was declared a pest by the Wild Animals Protection Law, the same law that protects Israel's 27 species of insectivorous bats.
Egyptian Fruit Bat populations had increased considerably during the past 50 years, apparently due to the greater availability of food as different varieties of orchard trees and ornamentals became more prevalent.
The fact that fruit bats withstood the extermination campaign much better than the insecteating species may be due to their higher reproductive potential, combined with their greater ability to use alternative roosts.

Instead of being the record of a campaign, the triumphal reliefs show an idealized picture of the accomplishments of the pharaoh, who is portrayed as the conqueror of the known world.
There is one other Egyptian text, however, that does shed a small amount of light on the campaign, namely a fragment from a stele of Shoshenq unearthed at Megiddo.
As far as is known from Egyptian sources, Ramses II never campaigned against Beth-Shean, and the fact that Beth-Shean had long been an Egyptian stronghold would mean that he had no need of campaigning there.

Observatório Bíblico: The Campaign of Pharaoh Shoshenq I in Palestine
The thesis of this book is that the campaign by Pharaoh Shoshenq I into Palestine in 926 B.C.E. was aimed solely at the kingdom of Judah with the purpose of supporting Jeroboam in his bid to rule Israel as a separate nation.
The evidence for this campaign comes from the Hebrew Bible (1 Kgs 14:25-28; 2 Chr 12:1-12), a triumphal relief of Shoshenq at Karnak, and a fragment of a stele at Megiddo.
After a survey of other Egyptian texts considered pertinent to the campaign, the rest of this study is devoted to an analysis of the biblical texts that record the attack.
