During his time in Göttingen in the years 1930 and 1931 it was the leading centre for mathematical research in the world although, of course, shortly after this the rise to power of the Nazis would change the mathematical world significantly.
Ehresmann followed the moves of the university then, in 1955, a chair of topology was specially created for him in the University of Paris.
Although he was 70 years old when he retired, Ehresmann did not give up lecturing for at this time he moved to Amiens, where his second wife was a professor of mathematics, and he taught there.

Kristen Ehresmann, a registered nurse and manager of the Immunization, Tuberculosis, and International Health Section at the Minnesota Department of Health speaks Friday about the flu vaccine shortage and its local and national implications.
Ehresmann said that the problem started when the United Kingdom revoked the license of one of the two main flu vaccine distributors after finding part of the vaccine supply was contaminated.
Ehresmann said many Minnesota health-care workers who would normally get vaccinated were asked to forgo the flu shot to ensure there was enough vaccine for high-risk individuals.

The MDH was particularly concerned about nursing-home residents because they are a very vulnerable population who essentially can't speak for themselves, according to Ehresmann.

The Memory Evolutive Systems (MES) defined by Ehresmann and Vanbremeersch in a series of papers since 1986 represent a mathematical model for such systems, based on the Theory of categories.
This model takes into account the above properties, and it allows to study the problem of emergence; an analysis of causality attributions shows that MES satisfy the definition given by Rosen for an 'organism'.

Drinfel'd doubles and Ehresmann doubles for Lie algebroids and Lie bialgebroids
We show that the Manin triple characterization of Lie bialgebras in terms of the Drinfel'd double may be extended to arbitrary Poisson manifolds and indeed Lie bialgebroids by using double cotangent bundles, rather than the direct sum structures (Courant algebroids) utilized for similar purposes by Liu, Weinstein and Xu.
This is achieved in terms of an abstract notion of double Lie algebroid (where \lq\lq double\rq\rq\ is now used in the Ehresmann sense) which unifies many iterated constructions in differential geometry.
