		While Eid ul-Fitr is always on the same day of the Islamic calendar, the date on the Gregorian calendar varies from year to year, much like Easter, due to differences between the two calendars, since the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar and the Gregorian calendar is a solar calendar.
		The first Eid was celebrated in 624 CE by the Islamic prophet Muhammad with his friends and relatives after the victory of the Battle of Badr.
		Fitr means "to break" and therefore symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period and of all evil habits.
