Ekata is reluctant to reveal details of her operations, preferring instead to mutter that she is "efficient" with her rifle and its 11-round magazine.
Ekata serves alongside two women trainees, Anju and Navena, both aged 16, who say they were motivated to join by tales of women being burnt alive and the prospect of leading boring domestic lives "cutting grass and feeding cattle".
A few miles from Ekata's unit another volunteer, 23-year-old Sunita, explains that she joined up five years ago seeking to avenge the death of friends who, she claims, were killed by police merely on suspicion of being Maoists.

The Mahabharata, Book 9: Shalya Parva: Section 36
The plan they formed, O scorcher of foes, was to take Trita with them, and calling upon all their Yajamanas and collecting the needful number of animals, they would joyfully drink the Soma juice and acquire the great merits of sacrifice.
Ekata and Dwita were in his rear, bringing up the animals.
Thus deserted by his two brothers, who were moved by the temptation of appropriating those animals, the great ascetic Trita, O king, while within that lonely well covered with dust and herbs and creepers, thought himself plunged, O chief of the Bharatas, into hell itself like a sinful wretch.

nabuki(red) and kubuku(teal) are sisters, rangers, and ekata is their shy priestess friend.

Kubuku's left leg's angle looks kind of strange for the position she's standing in, and both of Ekata's legs look oddly proportioned in comparison to the rest of her body.

.:SAKSIVC: Vedic Literature: Rig Veda: Word to word meaning: All Gods: Descent & Ascent:.
The outline of the story in nītimanjari related by S. is as follows: Three brothers Ekata, Dwita and Trita were travelling in a desert; being thirsty, they came to a well from which the youngest Trita drew water and gave it to the elders.
If we consider the obvious symbolism displayed in this story by names like Ekata and the well, the spiritual and symbolic interpretation of the hymn will be clear.
The three represent the three different states of consciousness in a man. Ekata, the first one, represents the realm of matter or food-sheath annamaya.
