 | | El Portal, at the west end of Highway 140 and the east entrance to Yosemite National Park, is aptly named, for whichever way you travel, "the gateway" opens to an interesting and beautiful part of Mariposa County. |
 | | All that remains today is an exhibit at El Portal featuring relics of the past, (including the old station from Bagby) and miles of railroad bed along the north side of the Merced River. |
 | | And in El Portal, on Foresta Road, there is an open-air exhibit including a steam locomotive from the Hetch Hetchy Railroad, and a baggage car, caboose, water tower and old Bagby station from the Yosemite Valley line. |
