		Teide (Mount Teide or Pico de Teide) is a volcano and mountain on Tenerife, Canary Islands (28.27 N, 16.6 W).
		Teide is also noted for a large number of endemic plants, including Cytisus supranubius (Retama del Teide, a species of broom), Echium wildpretii (Tajinaste rojo, a spectacular species of bugloss reaching 3 m tall), and Erysimum scoparium, a species of wallflower.

		Only one mountain lodge is present on the island, I think, te one on the side of El Teide (pronounce Tay-ée-de), the volcano in the hart of the island.
		The northern slopes of El Teide, forming the north side of the island, are moist and green (trade winds).

		Beware that el arenal is a VERY german resort but there is 3 english bars within 100m from the hostal.
		Teide was value for money, ie you get what you pay for.
		The Teide has a bar area and pool area, this was in the shade all day when we stayed but I would imagine it would be nice in Summer, though the location of the Teide is literally only two minutes stroll from the excellant beach of Arenal, with easy access to the bars and restaurants.
