4.3 In response to a request by Dame Elaine Kellett-Bowman, the Chairman and the Academic Registrar confirmed that in future the Court would be informed of the rate of attendance of those members co-opted to serve.
Dame Elaine Kellett-Bowman expressed her wish to see positive practical proposals put forward to improve the existing loan system, since no political party would ever restore the old grant system.
10.3 Councillor D. Stanley expressed gratitude to Dame Elaine for her statement and stated that many people in the room had fought in World War II with a prime objective being free education for all.

It is contended that the medal should be displayed with the other 11 Victoria Crosses awarded to the Coldstream Guards.

John and Lynne Cox live on Ascot Close in the Newlands area of Lancaster, close to the M6.
They have written to the city's MP, Dame Elaine Kellett-Bowman, as well as city and county councillors asking for support.
The Cox's want pressure put on the Government's Highways Agency which looks after the country's motorways.

RICHARD MARSH, Chairman of the British Railways Board has returned a definite "no" to a plea by Lancaster MP Mrs Elaine Kellett-Bowman to include men from the Carnforth depot for training in the electrification' scheme.
After stating that the Carnforth men have been given every facility to make their case.

CHRIS KAIGHIN, Continuing Education's 'Green' professional development coordinator, wrote to Dame Elaine Kellett-Bowmn MP asking for her support in the pay campaign.
His letter said, inter alia: "I have not chosen to strike today, as the work I do at Lancaster University is the provision of professional development courses for industry, which bring in additional revenue to Lancaster, and given our current financial difficulties it seemed to me counterproductive not to work.
