Eldar Harlequins - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Harlequin god: the Laughing god, was the one who tricked one of the c'tan into eating his own and is one of the two remaining Eldar gods (the other being the god of war, Khaine, who was broken down into the avatars).
Harlequin lifestyle is very much like the life of a roaming mime artist or troubadour of the medieval era.
Harlequins are sometimes seen wielding grenades which contain a powerful hallucinogen; victims of these grenades then see illusory opponents (as well as the Harlequins themselves), and are subsequently easier to defeat.

The original Eldar Homeworld was destroyed during the catastrophic collapse of the Eldar civilisation known as the Fall of the Eldar.
Much of the early history of the Eldar is recorded in the form of traditional dances, recounting the stories of the ancient houses of Eldanesh and Ulthanash, the children of Kurnous and Isha, Gea and her twin consorts Khaine the Bloody Handed God and Asuryan the Phoenix King.
The Eldar civilisation was at its height and spanned a significant portion of the galaxy.

 Harlequins in Space Hulk
Harlequins are Eldar specialist troops particularly well suited to combat the menace of the dreaded Genestealers.
Harlequin agility allows a Harlequin that is attacked from the side or rear to turn to face its attacker before the combat starts, at no penalty.
The Harlequin's Kiss is not a fast weapon and therefore is not of great use in a Deathdance where speed of the blows counts.

GW Online : Warhammer 40,000 : Eldar : The Eldar Harlequins   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Whilst all Eldar are known for their arcane technology and capricious ways, by far the most mysterious of these aliens are the troubadour-warriors known as the Harlequins.
The Harlequins are a mysterious sub-group of Eldar, recognisable by their highly patterned clothing and stylised, close-combat orientated fighting style.
When they encounter their Eldar brethren they frequently perform dances or masques that tell of the fall of the Eldar race, the creation of the Chaos god Slaanesh, the battles between the Eldar and the Necrontyr, and praise their mysterious Laughing God.

Eldar (Warhammer 40,000) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Warhammer 40,000 the Eldar are divided into three distinct groups with their own distinct armies: the Craftworld Eldar, who are similar to the High Elves, the Dark Eldar, who are similar to the Dark Elves and the Harlequins who do not have a Warhammer Fantasy counterpart.
The Craftworlds probably compose the majority of the surviving Eldar race in the galaxy of the forty-first millennium, although it is impossible to say just how many this is. They are certainly the seat of the remaining Eldar industry, technology, and culture, as they contain the only vestiges of their original homeworlds.
He is an amalgam of the Eldar souls stored in the Craftworlds' Infinity Circuits, and is being slowly brought to consciousness in the Infinity Circuits of the Craftworlds in the hope that one day he may be released into the Warp and destroy Slaanesh, delivering the Eldar from their captivity.

 Relic Forums - Eldar + Harlequins - Wraithguard Video Pg 16 Aug24th
The late tier vehicle of the Harlequins is an adaptation of the vyper known as the mocking bird armed with a highly destructive Virbo Cannon.
I also know that most eldar fans have been dying to have the other aspects in the game as well as things like wraithguard so i wanted to make a tech tree that would allow you to use them but still stay balanced against the core races.
As for the eldar offshoot Harlequins was actually the primary project, I just decided to finally work on the Craftworlds as Harlequins has real trouble getting support and interest being such a vague and unsupported force.

CoolMiniOrNot - Dark Eldar Harlequins Talos by Agis
During the studio tour the day before, I talked to Gav Thorpe and he told me that GW would not produce an official codex until who knows when.
After careful reading of the Dark Eldar army book, I decided that all the Haemunculi, Grotesques, Beast Packs and Talos would not fit in my idea of the Dark Harlequins.
I envisioned the Dark Harlequins as a specialised Wychcult that was impressed by a Harlequin performance.
