Announced what seems like eons ago, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was built from the ground up for Xbox 360 and next-generation PCs, following the series’ tradition of retooling both the engine and the gameplay for each iteration of the Elder Scrolls franchise.
Combat also follows the tried-and-true Elder Scrolls model, with gamers able to block, cast spells and unleash quick and power attacks whose success or failure is based on players’ statistics.

According to the documentation, The Elder Scrolls: Arena got the subtitle it did because the vast, sprawling empire of Tamriel in which the game takes place is, by all accounts, a pretty rotten place to live.

It is impossible to start a discourse on The Elder Scrolls II without focusing first and foremost on the fact that the game was released unacceptably early and so riddled with bugs as to be nigh unplayable.

The latest chapter of the Elder Scrolls saga takes place In Cyrodiil, the capital province of Tamriel, as well as parts of Oblivion itself.
As many of you know, possibly the biggest weakness of the previous Elder Scrolls game was the insane vastness (I regret for using such idiotic phrasing, I really do) and complete open-endedness that made the game much less focused than it should've been.

Modojo has received word that video game developer Bethesda will be releasing a version of its recent Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion RPG title on Sony's next generation console, the PlayStation 3.

An odd move to say the least, but the Elder Scrolls have seen a portable iteration once before, available on Nokia's N-Gage, so a move to the PSP would certainly be possible.
