After the 2004 election, I examined precinct canvass results for 9,343 of 11,323 precincts in the State of Ohio, identifying anomalous or irregular election results from the 2004 presidential election, utilizing the same analytical techniques which have enabled me, in the past, to detect unusually rapid groundwater flow or groundwater contamination.
The County Prosecutor’s office confirmed this in writing, stated further that there were fewer than 100 such ballots countywide (out of 89,822 ballots cast), and claimed that there had been an FBI investigation into the matter upon the request of Congressman John Conyers, but that the FBI report could not be located.
Board of Elections personnel have confirmed that these 4 precincts were among the 97% of the ballots that were recounted by machine in December 2004, and that the observers who reported seeing stickered ballots were observing the 3% of the ballots that were hand-counted.

Ohio's chief justice on Thursday threw out a challenge to the state's presidential election results on a technicality, ruling that the request improperly challenged two separate election results.
U.S. Rep. John Conyers, of Michigan, sent a letter to authorities seeking an investigation and suggesting that election equipment in Hocking County be impounded "to prevent any further tampering." A spokesman for the FBI's Cincinnati division said he was aware of the issue but declined to comment because the letter had not been received.
Meanwhile, 60 of Ohio's 88 counties have started their recounts, according to the Green Party, which requested and paid for the statewide recount along with the Libertarian Party presidential campaign.

Elections officials in two counties where the vote totals were unchanged by the recount said they hope it shows the reliability of Ohio's election procedures, despite criticism by activists over reports of voting machine shortages and lines at polling places in some areas.
Ohio election procedures stipulate that a recount begin with workers counting 3 percent of ballots by hand and then by machine.
Elections officials, a Green Party representative, prosecutors and the Logan patrolman who investigates computer crimes were among the observers as the same technician repeated the repair and answered questions.

The revelations coming out of Ohio may change the election or at least help institute election reform that will make it harder to steal elections in the future.
It seems a bit unfair to blame Moyer or Blackwell or whomever on the Republican side for the error in filing the lawsuit and thus delaying the case's hearing in court.
