The tropics are the geographic region of the Earth centered on the equator and limited in latitude by the two tropics: the Tropic of Cancer in the north and the Tropic of Capricorn in the southern hemisphere.
The western side of the peninsula is washed by the Gulf of Carpentaria, while its eastern side, along with the whole of Queensland's eastern shore, borders the Coral Sea which is an arm of the Pacific Ocean.
To the west, Queensland is bordered by the Northern Territory, to its south by New South Wales, and to its south west by the north eastern corner of South Australia.

In 1891 the Toowoomba Infantry had to escort Afghans and their camels within Queensland and up to the NSW border as they were in danger from enraged and militant unionists.
At the November 1893 conference of the Labor Electoral League of New South Wales, the platform which called for "Prohibition by law of the use of camels as beasts of burden, as being inimical to the health and well-being of the residents where such beasts are used" was confirmed.

Paterson and others in the purchase of Fernless station, in the Maranoa district, and sold out of that with a competency sufficient to maintain him comfortably for the remainder of his days, but was induced, during the sugar fever, to invest in a sugar property in Bundaberg district, where he breathed his last yesterday.
He was in Toowoomba about five years ago, preached in the School of Arts, and managed to extract from the pockets of the people about (pounds sterling) 50 towards the erection of places of worship in the interior, which should be open to any itinerant bush missionary.

The electoral process was modified in 1804 with the ratification of the Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution and again in 1961 with the ratification of the Twenty-third Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Natural disasters are very infrequent in the District, bushfires for the most part being isolated and small, earth tremors minor, and violent storms infrequent and fortunately so far fairly harmless.

The bridge will be a great convenience to the residents in the Eastern Suburb, and to the settlers away to the north west, and it will enable them to avoid the tug up and down the sandy bed of banks and bed of the creek.

Sokwanele also monitored events on election day from before the polling stations were opened until the final "official" results were declared, and from that experience we have produced a catalogue of further electoral violations and gross irregularities to add to the tally.
Their tactics included shutting polling agents from the main opposition party, Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), out of the polling stations during voting and particularly the count; unlawfully imprisoning MDC agents, incommunicado, after the vote; and the near monopoly control by Zanu-PF of the means of communication to and from the polling stations.
