		When i bought it, I was a bit unclear about whether the Electribe would respond to its own controllers over MIDI from a sequencer.
		Analog Modeling that the Electribe uses is NOT Analog, but a purely digital representation of analog dynamics.
		Another issue with the Electribe is that velocity is not supported.

		I don't find the kick's that strong to use out of the box, but the percussion is good and you can get some good effects out of the MX so it's mainly used for that.
		My point is that some of those sampled kicks in your Electribe can be fairly good starting points for crafting very solid finished kick samples later on which you will use in your software sampler when working on your mix.
		I did notice that the electribe does actually put out some decent basses for a wide range of apps.

		This latest Electribe product is a development of the EM1 (released almost exactly two years ago), a combination of eight-part drum machine and two-part synth/sequencer.
		In common with other Electribes, each drum and synth voice is organised as a Part, an indivisible pairing of a voice generator and one track of sequencing played by the Pattern-based sequencer.
		Not that the Electribe is flaky — during the review period, it wasn't — but there's no knowing what might happen in a live situation.
