Electronic color code - Biocrawler   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Electronic color codes are used to indicate the values or ratings of electronic components, near-universally for resistors, but also for capacitors, inductors, and others.
A useful mnemonic for remembering the first ten color codes is "Better Be Right Or Your Great Big Venture Goes West", where the first letter matches the first letter of the color code, by order of increasing magnitude.
However the use of color coding for capacitors is not nearly as widespread as for resistors.

 Spartanburg SC | GoUpstate.com | Spartanburg Herald-Journal
The electronic color code discussed here is used to indicate the values or ratings of electronic components, very commonly for resistors, but also for capacitors, inductors, and others.
A separate code, the 25-pair color code, is used to identify wires in a cable or bundle.
It is sometimes not obvious whether a color coded component is a resistor, capacitor, or inductor, and this may be deduced by knowledge of its circuit function, physical shape or by measurement (capacitors have nearly infinite resistance; unfortunately, so do faulty open-circuit resistors and inductors).

  Passive Components Color Codes
The color coding standard is defined and maintained by the International Electrotechnical Commission and described in the IEC 60062 publication (the document is better known just as IEC 62).
The codes for numerals 2 to 7 were in fact inspired by the progression of colors in a rainbow (check it against the photo on the right), starting from the lowest frequencies (longest wavelengths) on the outer rim and proceding towards the highest ones (shortest wavelengths) on the inner side.
This, alas, is where electronic color codes deviate sharply from the romance, since a golden band stands for a rather unsatisfactory 5% tolerance on the nominal value...

Final Guidance - Using Electronic Means to Distribute Certain Product Information - March 2006
If receipt of the electronic communication is not acknowledged appropriately by the recipient (as determined by the sender) or the electronic communication is undeliverable, the sender can resort to more traditional notification methods or other means to ensure the communication is received.
Electronic notification is a viable alternative to more traditional methods, particularly where the healthcare provider voluntarily provides an e-mail address, or other electronic address.
Consistent with this regulation, the e-mail or other electronic communication also should be “distinctive in appearance so that it will be promptly recognized and read.” For example, the subject line of the communication should include a signal of its importance, similar to the bold headers in mailings, together with the name of the drug product.

 Code-coverage Tool
For code-coverage colored presentation, the coverage tool uses the following heuristic: source characters are scanned until reaching a position in the source that is indicated by the profile information as the beginning of a basic block.
If more than one basic block is generated for the code at a source position (for example, for macros), then the total number of such blocks and the number of the blocks that were executed are also displayed in front of the execution count.
The code that has the same coverage property (covered or not covered) on both runs is considered as covered code.

The electronic resource is of such a very high quality that when played via a listening device, printed out or viewed on screen can serve as a replacement if the original is damaged, destroyed or lost.

Imagine that every time you printed a document, it automatically included a secret code that could be used to identify the printer - and potentially, the person who used it.
Yet there are no laws to stop the Secret Service from using printer codes to secretly trace the origin of non-currency documents; only the privacy policy of your printer manufacturer currently protects you (if indeed such a policy exists).
And no law regulates what sort of documents the Secret Service or any other domestic or foreign government agency is permitted to request for identification, not to mention how such a forensics tool could be developed and implemented in printers in the first place.

You can see that there are four colored stripes painted around the body of this resistor, and that they are grouped closer to one end (the top) than to the other.
The use of colored stripes, or bands, allows small components to be accurately marked in a way that can be read at a glance, without difficulty or any great possibility of error.
Starting with the color band or stripe closest to one end of the resistor, the bands have the following significance: The first two bands give the two significant digits of the resistance value.
