 Monopoly Pub Crawl - Route
Outside Elephant and Castle tube station the 1, 53, 63, 172, 188, 363 and 453 buses go to Old Kent Road from bus stop E near the tube station.
The meeting point is the main Elephant and Castle station entrance, not the shopping centre entrance which is on the opposite side of the roundabout.
The route encompasses all 26 streets and stations on the Monopoly board, leaving out the Electric Company, Water Works etc. However there are a few compromises: we don't visit the pubs in the order on the board and in some cases there simply isn't a pub on the actual street.

Crazy Aussies World Tour: Aye - are you from Cork then??
A group of about 12 of us from the hostel, minus Tierns who was still staying with his cousins, jumped on the Tube and headed to Elephant and Castle station, a few blocks from the club.
With the Tube still closed for the night and with my faith in the London bus system completely gone, Shobbz was pretty convinced we could walk it in an hour, but I'd done enough walking for the night so we jumped in a London Taxi.
Later that night we decided it would be a smashing idea with our few remaining hours to head to MINISTRY OF SOUND - the club run by the record label responsible for some of the best dance music in the world.

The Militant - February 26, 2001 -- UK train drivers fight privatization
At the Elephant and Castle station in South London, workers on the picket line hung a banner on the railings saying, "RMT & ASLEF, Striking for Safety." Only 8 percent of scheduled trains ran, with just 39 out of the usual 476 trains running during the morning rush hour.
Pickets at the Northumberland Park station in north London said they were on strike because they did not want the tube to go the way of the rest of the railways.
The unions are demanding the establishment of a joint working group to investigate safety standards and a prohibition on compulsory redundancies [layoffs].

 ScienceDaily: Kennington tube station
Unlike the other original CandSLR stations at Stockwell, Oval and Elephant and Castle, which were all rebuilt during the 1920s modernisation and despite the major works taking place underground, Kennington's surface building saw little in terms of a physical update at that time.
Its neighbours to the north are Waterloo on the Charing Cross branch and Elephant and Castle on the Bank branch; the next station to the south is Oval.
