  collision detection: Elevator action
If you're ever in a rush, and you're taking an elevator and don't want to be forced to stop for other people, try this intriguing elevator hack.
The designers of some elevators include a hidden feature that is very handy if you're in a hurry or it's a busy time in the building (like check-out time in a hotel).
While some elevators require a key, others can be put into "Express" mode by pressing the "Door Close" and "Floor" buttons at the same time.

Elevator Action Returns for Saturn Review - Saturn Elevator Action Returns Review   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
When Taito released the original Elevator Action to arcades back in 1983, gamers were treated to a simple, yet highly addictive, spy action thriller.
Elevator Action Returns takes place sometime in the 21st century, where an elite terrorist group is trying to take over the world.
If it sounds pretty basic, that's because it is. While the action is highlighted by plenty of mindless carnage and lots of firepower (two players can go at it simultaneously, with each character having an infinite supply of ammo and limited explosives), the gameplay comes across as uninspired and extremely repetitive.

Elevator Action is a title that no one in his or her wildest dreams actually thought existed.
Elevators aren't the only source of transportation in the building, on the lower levels you'll find escalators which will take you down one level but leave you exposed to gunfire.
The elevators are also a bit buggy in this version, and will sometimes take a minute or two to come up to your level (be patient though, if you wait they will come).

I think Mission Elevator was a budget release (which for 16-bit games means it sold for about £10, as opposed to the £25-£30 price range for all the full-price releases).
However, since the ST is considerably more advanced than the ancient coin-op, Mission Elevator has better graphics and (arguably) better sound.
As you can see, the graphics in Mission Elevator are colorful, though not up to the standards of a game like Robocop 2.

 Elevator action returns
As you may know, Elevator Action Returns is one of my favourite games ever, one of those titles that i periodically play for a quick 1-CC.
Elevator Action was clearly inspired by tv series like Mission Impossible and the like, with its secret agent that had to stole the secret plans while being hunted down by various baddies.
In this regard, Elevator Action Returns is the game that is more distant from its “ancestor”: not only (obviously) for its graphical aspect, but mainly for the gameplay.
