Elizabethtown College has hired Eric Walker as its head wrestling coach.
It is a homecoming of sorts for Walker, who is a native of Elizabethtown, Pa. and a 1996 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School, as he becomes the College's tenth head wrestling coach as the program enters its 50th season of competition in 2003-04.
Prior to taking the reins of the program at Elizabethtown College, Walker served as an assistant wrestling coach at nearby Franklin and Marshall College, which, despite being a small school that does not offer athletic scholarships, competes at the the NCAA Division I level in wrestling.

In an effort to celebrate the return of students, the Elizabethtown Chamber of Commerce and the Elizabethtown College Student Senate and dining services have organized the second annual Town & Gown Block Party, to be held Thursday, Sept. 9 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The event is part of the ongoing commitment made by the chamber to revitalize the downtown area.
Brian Sipe, president of the student senate at E'town College, said the Town & Gown Block Party is a good place for the community to meet college student and see how they can benefit from the extra money they bring to local businesses around town.
